What happened that got you involved with Access Youth?

I had a mediation.

 

What does Access Youth mean to you? How has it helped you?

Access Youth means having somewhere to go talk if I am down.  They help me relieve stress and make my day better.

 

What makes your typical day different now that you’re involved with Access Youth?  What has improved?

I’m just happy to have someone to talk to without feeling nervous or having any anxiety.

 

What should people understand about why it’s hard to have good attendance/behavior at your school?

Most kids suffer from loss of a family member or don’t have a father and struggle with attendance and behavior because of the trauma.

 

What is the best thing that people can do to help students with these challenges?

Therapy–make sure that it is available.

 

What are your strongest talents, skills, or interests? What are you BEST at?

Swimming and track.

 

Beyond being a student, how would you describe yourself?

Generous and loving and a good friend.

 

Who/what do you see yourself being when you’re older?  How do you want others to see you as you grow up?

In 2025, I will be in the Olympics as a swimmer.  “He was a good type of man that didn’t want to fit, and he stood out in the crowd.”
